The City is actively working with developers and retailers to purchase and redevelop parcels along major shopping corridors. The City is also working with residential developers to develop a variety of housing types as part of residential projects to suit the tastes of new and existing residents. For industrial development, Oregon is a part of the I-39 Logistics Corridor Association, the regional industrial/commercial marketing agency.
Business Growth Status
Oregon is the home of several international manufacturing industries. Three of the largest are home-grown companies which together employ over 800 individuals; almost unheard of in a town the size of Oregon. These businesses have weathered both good times and bad, and continually improve themselves through investment and training in cutting edge technology and quality customer service. In addition, the Exelon Nuclear Generating station, only seven miles from town, employs over 850 highly skilled and professional individuals.
